So everyone keeps asking 2 questions: 1. HOW DID THE "SOCK ADVENTURE" IN DENVER GO? It was GREAT! Three of us handed out lots of socks AND a few coats to whoever needed them...…the coats were gone almost immediately and the brand new, bright, white socks were pretty dang popular. The process was certainly uncomfortable at first because it always is...…typical conversation seems to fail. Questions like, “Where do you live” or “What do you do for a living” aren’t relevant. So you dig deeper and discover more of what you truly have in common because it is there. “How do you feel today?”, “Isn’t this ridiculously warm weather amazing?”, “What is your name?” All in all, it was a GOOD experience, and it gets me excited to begin a grand experiment through More To Life. Which brings me to numero dos.
2. CAN I GIVE TO MTL? This is something still in progress, but let me say how much I appreciate all of you thinking about it. It means the world to know that one day the rent, supplies and even my time could be covered financially...…but I have even bigger dreams : ) I have to admit, yes I would like MTL to be a part-time gig for me because I have seen what an impact SCY made on so many lives locally and now beyond... and I am extremely passionate about what MTL can become and the difference I know it will make...…and giving will help make that possible. Giving will also make MORE possible, which is why I’m confident that every 6 months, twice a year, MTL will give back in unexpected and surprising ways called "generosity experiments." In other words, the socks are just the beginning! Every 6 months, MTL will invite you to participate in something truly GOOD and generous funded by 15% of whatever is given to MTL. Again, thank you for asking questions. It means a lot and has sparked a tiny flame that is steadily growing. Figuring how to give and how to structure MTL so that it is transparent to all of you is my next task at hand...…and I’ve got a few exciting ideas. Until next time friends... P.S. A new playlist is in the works...…songs inspired by our recent talks. Stay tuned : )
